My story

Working as freelance translator meant spending long hours on my laptop, sometimes 8 to 10 hours a day. Certainly, without yoga I would have ended with neck and back problems due to the nature of my work.

As my passion grew for yoga, I attended a few yoga retreats in the town of Leh, on an altitude of 3500m in the Laddakh range of the Indian Himalayas. Eventually, I decided to become a yoga teacher so I could share my love for yoga.

Two of my yoga teacher trainings had influenced me a lot. The first one, a metamorphosing course as it was called. with the well-known Meghan Currie. The course improved my practice and understanding of yoga and changed my approach to it as well as to life. While the second one, with Yogi Sivadas from Kailash Tribal School in Dharmsala, India, merged the practice of yoga with a holistic Ayurvedic education and prepared me on how to  be a better yogi and teacher.

To me yoga is not just asanas and breathing. It is a journey through which I meet my true self. I get to know my approach to life in its weak and strong moments, determinations and frustrations. I believe yoga practice mirrors our approach to life.

In my classes, I don´t include acrobatic poses, but do introduce some challenging balance poses. For instance, if I ask my students to do Warrior 3 or Half-moon, I cue the steps in little details and ask students to try their best because life is worth trying, and if we quit in the face of a challenge, we won´t achieve anything. Through yoga, I invite my students to reflect on the way they go with their daily life.

As long energy (prana) moves freely in the subtle channels (nadis) our joints remain flexible and hence our bodies remain young or younger than the actual age. Even if an older person has never done yoga before, I encourage her/him to start, so the channels could be free from any blockage and energy would flow easily.

I offer a variety of classes because each yoga type reflects part of me: I can be very chilled as my hatha classes, hyper active as my vinyasa classes, push to my edge as in my yin and yin-yang classes and very deep as in my guided meditation classes. All my classes are an invitation to reflect on life and a guidance to connect with the higher self.

I hope to see you soon
